AP Physics 2 is a college-level, algebra-based course that expands on the principles learned in AP Physics 1, diving deeper into the fascinating world of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, electricity and magnetism, optics, and modern physics. Through hands-on labs, inquiry-based learning, and complex problem-solving, students will develop a deeper conceptual understanding and strengthen their analytical skills. This course emphasizes experimental design, data analysis, and real-world applications while thoroughly preparing students for the AP exam.

AP Physics 2 challenges students to think critically, make connections across topics, and explore the deeper mysteries of the physical universe, laying a strong foundation for future studies in STEM fields.

About the teachers:

Dr. Shao is an experienced Physics teacher and a former associate professor in college. He has taught Physics Honor, AP Physics 1&2, AP Physics C ( Mechanics and E/M), f=ma and College Physics classes. Students found their interest in Physics and gain the confidence with his help.

Dr. Shao was graduated from University of Texas , Austin with a Ph.D. in Computer Science. Before that, he was the youngest associate professor in Electrical Engineering and  taught many classes related physics, electronics and circuits. His quantum mechanic class delighted the college students. He received the best teacher awards. He has been working in a high tech company about 20 years.  He also enjoys helping the High school and college students in Physics.  He would like to share his knowledge and passion on physics with local students.
